Prior to founding Earth Tech Ron was a Project Manager for Geo-Con, a large national geotechnical construction company. During this time he traveled extensively throughout the United States completing many large and innovative soil stabilization projects. Ron has spent his entire career in the specialty geotechnical, soil stabilization field.
In starting Earth Tech it was Ron's goal to create a local company to address the growing need of soil stabilization in the central Florida area. It was also his dream to assemble a dynamic team of individuals that would become the premier foundation stabilization company in Florida. In addition to managing Earth Tech, Ron is also dedicated to the local community. He was the 2002 Board of Directors President for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay which serves Hillsborough, Pasco and Polk counties. Ron was also a member of the Board of Directors of the For Kid's Sake Foundation in Orlando. He is also active in other charities supporting children and the arts in our community and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Pasco Economic Development Council. Ron is a licensed General Contractor in the state of Florida.
As Vice President of Earth Tech, Lewis is in charge of all Field Operations of the company. Prior to joining Earth Tech, he worked for three of the largest drilling and grouting companies in the United States over forty years. Lewis traveled throughout the United States completing hundreds of complex soil and rock stabilization projects. He is responsible for designing and building much of the specialized geotechnical equipment that is used by Earth Tech. It is this type of innovation that sets Earth Tech apart from the rest.
Lewis has been married for over 50 years and is the father of two grown children and the Grandfather of two girls. He is active in his church and supports various community efforts.
Badwi (BUD) R. Khouri, PE
Bud attended the University of Illinois, where he earned his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering. He then attended Oregon State University for his Master’s degree in Structural & Geotechnical Engineering.
Bud is a registered P.E. in 12 states (most Southeast states) including California. In the past 30 years of his career, Bud has worked in design and construction. In 1983, he joined URS (Greiner Engineering at the time) in the Baltimore & Philadelphia offices for 7+ years working on design of bridges and transportation related structures. Bud then moved to Atlanta and San Francisco with the Reinforced Earth Company.
For the past 20+ years, Bud has been working in the heavy deep foundation and ground improvement construction industry in Vice President positions with Coastal Caisson/Bauer and Treviicos. He is currently Executive Vice President with Earth Tech.
Bud & his wife are blessed with three wonderful kids, and he loves to play racquetball in his spare time.
Paulett Callum oversees the financial aspects of Earth Tech, and supervises our customer service team. From the first time you call Earth Tech, Our team wants you to have the personal service that will make you happy you called us. Paulett's "family touch" with our clients comes in part from leading a family that includes 3 children ages 10,11, & 16. Away from the office, Paulett and her family enjoy swimming, boating, and long walks.
Ed Garbin, PhD, PE, D.GE
VP of Engineering & Technology
Having first acquired a diverse construction background, Dr. Garbin earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of South Florida (Tampa). While doing so, he worked for Applied Foundation Testing, helping to establish their Tampa office. He specialized in instrumentation, data acquisition and full-scale testing of deep foundations and other geotechnical systems.
Thereafter, Dr. Garbin joined the Tampa branch of Universal Engineering Sciences, ultimately managing the geotechnical and drilling departments for several years. Concurrently he taught structural and geotechnical engineering courses as an adjunct at USF.
In 2007 Dr. Garbin left consulting and academia to return to his construction roots, accepting a position with Hayward Baker as Chief Engineer of the Southern Region. He focused on solving complex geotechnical problems using innovative ground improvement systems, often for remediation of very soft soils. He also gained extensive experience in the design and construction of earth retention and specialty deep foundation systems. Dr. Garbin was the lead design engineer for major specialty geotechnical construction projects across the country, and has also completed projects in Central America and the Caribbean.
In January of 2015, Dr. Garbin joined Earth Tech as Vice President of Engineering & Technology. At Earth Tech he serves as the company’s lead technical authority for specialty geotechnical construction projects in the U.S. and the Caribbean. His practical and diverse background allows him to bring a unique perspective to the design, construction and testing of complex and innovative geotechnical systems. Dr. Garbin is a Board Certified Geotechnical Engineer.
When he’s not working, he can usually be found close to home spending time with his wife and their two dogs. He enjoys staying active, particularly with CrossFit.

Mark graduated from the University of South Florida in 1989 with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with studies focused on geotechnical engineering.
During his almost 20 years at Hayward Baker, Mark specialized in the ground improvement side of the business working on projects throughout the southeastern United States, the Caribbean and Central America. In addition to project management, Mark also was involved in Business Development.
In 2015, Mark decided to pursue an opportunity as a Senior Project Manager with Earth Tech. His duties at Earth Tech remain focused on the ground improvement market.
Mark is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida. He currently serves as Chairperson on the local ASCE Geo Institute and is also a member of the Florida Engineering Society.
Mark and his wife have three children, as well as a loyal Boston Terrier Badger. When time allows you can usually find him on his boat either fishing or relaxing on the island with his family and dog.

Michael Simpson, PE
Michael graduated from Auburn University in 2003 with his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering. His studies focused on geotechnical engineering with an emphasis on drilled shafts.
After college, Michael moved to Tampa, Florida where he joined Qore Property Sciences, specializing in local geotechnical consulting services. His duties included developing work scopes, estimates, project management, engineering evaluations and recommendations for geotechnical explorations.
Michael left consulting in 2005 and joined the Florida branch of Hayward Baker as a Project Manager. During his nearly 10 years with Hayward Baker, Michael gained valuable experience primarily in ground improvement projects located in Florida, East Georgia and Puerto Rico. He prepared cost estimates, proposals and designs and managed Vibro-Compaction, Vibro-Replacement, Compaction Grout and Rigid Inclusion projects.
At the end of 2014, Michael joined Earth Tech as a Senior Project Manager. His duties at Earth Tech remain focused on the ground improvement market. Michael is currently a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.
Michael spends his spare time with his wife and daughter, and his two dogs, Derby and Foxie.

John Barnes is involved in every stage of the projects he manages including; estimating, assisting in the design, contracting, coordinating, scheduling, budgeting and overseeing construction. John has over 8 years’ experience in deep foundation construction and his been involved in many projects both large and small covering a wide variety of fields. John currently holds Earth Tech’s General Contractor’s License in South Carolina. In his spare time, John enjoys being a father and spending time with family.
Operations Manager / Safety Director
Jon Wiksten serves as Director of Operations and Safety Director for Earth Tech (DE), LLC heavy civil construction division. Jon’s responsibilities include field operations, project and site safety director, estimating, project management, equipment procurement, and business development. Prior to Jon joining Earth Tech, he served as Vice President for Coastal Caisson Corporation, a Bauer Company, where he gained over 26 years of experience in field supervision and management within the foundation construction industry. Jon’s construction and technical experience include: Vibro Replacement, Vibro Compaction, Ductile Iron Piles, Micro Piles, Drilled Shafts, and Augercast in place piles, Cement Sand Vertical Columns, Deep Cut off walls, Rock Anchors and many other soil improvement and deep foundation services. During Jon’s free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, fishing, riding motorcycle, and any activity that keeps him outdoors.
Business Development Manager
Dan Coxe graduated from Baker College in 1997 with a Bachelors of Business Administration/Associates of Business Management. After completing college and knowing the direction he wanted to pursue was construction, he became a licensed General Contractor within the State of Michigan. After several years of operation, Dan sold his business and moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida. After relocation, Dan knew he wanted to continue within the construction industry; particularly within the heavy civil construction industry. Shortly thereafter, Dan was hired by Earth Tech (DE) LLC where he is happily employed as a Business Development Manager. Outside Dan’s duties at Earth Tech, he enjoys his two boys, wife of fourteen years, boating, fishing, and coaching Pop Warner youth football.
Dave Ronda is primarily responsible for generating all proposals that are sent out to customers, from the initial drafting of the residence and drilling locations to the finished bound custom proposal that is mailed to our potential clients. Dave's attention to detail, and eagerness to complete each bid assures that our clients receive the highest quality document with an unsurpassed turnaround time from the initial meeting with one of our highly trained project managers. After a client commits to have Earth Tech perform the work, Dave makes sure that the work is immediately scheduled. He is also responsible for all of the technology that keeps the company online and up to date.
Dave's diversified background includes nine years in the residential and residential construction business. He earned a BA degree from Iona College and lives in Land O' Lakes.
Dean Olivanti has been Earth Tech’s Risk Manager fortwo years. Prior to joining Earth Tech, he spent 10 years in thecommercial property and casualty insurance industry, working as aproducer and as a loss control representative. He currently holds hisinsurance 220 license and is a certified OSHA trainer. His responsibilities include loss control, safety and risk managementmatters. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife andson, outdoor activities and sporting events

Wayne Quirk serves as Senior Project Superintendent for Earth Tech (DE), LLC heavy civil construction division. Wayne’s responsible for project coordination, equipment management, site safety, labor organization and client relations at each jobsite. Prior to joining Earth Tech, Wayne was a Project Superintendent with Layne Geo Construction Company in Ruther Glen, Virginia and Hayward Baker, Inc. in Tampa, Florida where he gained over 26 years’ experience in field supervision and management within the foundation construction industry. Wayne’s technical experience include: Ground improvement techniques such as Vibro Replacement (Stone Columns) and Vibro Compaction, Micro Piles for high capacity piles in limited access areas, Compaction & Pressure Grouting, Jet Grouting, Chemical Grouting, drilling, Rock Anchors, Deep Dynamic Compaction (DDC), and load testing including Static and Dynamic. During Wayne’s free time, he enjoys spending time at church, enjoying the company of his wife and children, golfing, and fishing.
Danny Zambrano is Earth Tech’s Senior Drill Team Leader and is chosen most often for difficult or for large commercial projects. As a Senior Drill Team Leader, he is responsible for drilling and inserting casing for grouting. A former Master Chef, Danny enjoys spending time with is family, going to the park or beach with his daughter, Elizabeth, and of course, cooking.

Derick is an Earth Tech Underpinning and GroutingSupervisor. He oversees the details of the underpinning and groutingprocesses, ensuring the quality of each job. He has honed his skills byattending Magnum Piering Field Supervisors Training Course and has beenfactory-trained in all of the Magnum Piering Systems processes. Heenjoys basketball, wrestling, fishing and football. Derick’s love ofsports comes through in his position as an Assistant Coach with theRidgewood High School Wrestling Team.

As one of Earth Tech’s most senior Field Supervisors, Tracy Lee Downour is our most requested team leader for residential grouting work. Prior to joining Earth Tech in 1999, he worked as a pipe layer. Married with two children, Tracy enjoys watching or attending NASCAR races, as well as attending his son’s football games in his spare time.
Arnold R. Robinson
Arnold R. Robinson
Arnold Robinson is an Underpinning Supervisor for Earth Tech. He oversees the details of the underpinning process, ensuring a quality job and happy homeowners. He has 10 years experience in the underpinning process, and has been instrumental in the design and installation techniques of the Magnum Piering System. He also holds an OSHA 30-hour safety certificate. He and his wife have three children, and together they enjoy boating, fishing and camping.
