SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
Sustainability and long-term viability is the conceptual framework of every facility we design and build
Earth Tech offers a full range of capabilities for large-scale sustainable design such as biogas energy recovery, cogeneration systems, micro-hydro and large hydroelectric systems, wind power generation and waste fuel utilization. We also provide sustainable design building systems, wetland/ stormwater management and integrated design services for building services. This design involves addressing four main elements: reducing pollution, increasing comfort levels and energy efficiency, reducing replacement, and balancing the building’s relationship to the environment.
Earth Tech’s commitment to sustainable design is reflected through the number of company professionals who have achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™) accreditation and by our active participation in green building council of several countries
Earth Tech has a reputation for excellence in environmental science and we have built on this experience to become a leader in designing and building state of the art facilities. Our in-house team of LEED™ accredited architects, engineers and environmental scientists create energy-efficient and environmentally sound projects for public and private clients worldwide.
The goal of sustainable design is to ensure that a facility meets current and future requirements with minimal use of natural resources throughout its lifetime. To build socially responsible and energy-efficient projects such as these, Earth Tech effectively balances the competing demands of resource conservation and pollution prevention with performance criteria, scheduling demands and budget realities.
At Earth Tech we believe sustainable design should be:
- All inclusive, embracing ecological, economic, and social issues
- Integrated
- Innovative
- Aesthetic
- Honest
- Enduring
- Minimalist (keep it simple)
- Consistent down to details
Earth Tech’s capabilities in sustainable design span the architectural and engineering spectrum. Our services extend not only to building structures, but also to water and wastewater facilities, aviation, energy, transportation projects and environmental investigations. When undertaking a sustainable design project we explore options for:
- Sustainable sites
- Energy efficiency and conservation
- Water efficiency
- Use of renewable energy resources
- Selection of materials and systems, based on operational and life-cycle impacts
- Efficiency in materials utilization, including reuse and recycled content
- Building ecology
- Indoor environmental quality
- Innovation and design process
And, because of our experience in sustainable design and construction, we have the practical knowledge necessary to ensure that these long-term features of the facility are aligned with operational and maintenance requirements.
