EARTH TECH AWARDED $25 MILLION HOUSING RESTORATION WORK AT AIR FORCE BASE HIT BY HURRICANE KATRINA
Work to be Performed on More Than 400 Units at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss.
LONG BEACH, Calif. (March 16, 2006) – Earth Tech Inc., a business unit of Tyco International Ltd, and a global provider of consulting, engineering and construction services, has been awarded a $25 million task order to repair and restore hurricane-damaged housing for military personnel stationed at Keesler Air Force Base (AFB) in Biloxi, Miss. The work will be conducted under an Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) Worldwide Environmental Restoration and Construction contract.
During the 10-month assignment, Earth Tech will restore and repair military family housing units on the base that were damaged by flood waters, fallen trees and high winds associated with Hurricane Katrina.
“We have a long history of helping our nation during times of need,” said Bill Webb, executive vice president of Earth Tech’s North American operations. “This project to support the U.S. government is particularly significant since we will be helping the men and women who protect our country as they recover from Hurricane Katrina.”
Previously, Earth Tech provided emergency response services to remove debris at the World Trade Center after 9-11 and after the Columbia space shuttle crash; and after the ricin and anthrax contaminations in Washington, D.C.
