EARTH TECH-OPERATED WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT RECEIVES NATIONAL CLEAN WATER ACT AWARD FROM U.S. EPA

New Hampshire Facility Recognized for Outstanding Operations & Maintenance Practices

 

LONG BEACH, Calif.  (December 5, 2005) – An Earth Tech-operated wastewater treatment plant in New Hampshire has received a 2005 National Clean Water Act Recognition Award in the Small Secondary Plant category from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  Earth Tech is a business unit of Tyco International Ltd, and a global provider of consulting, engineering and construction services.

The award, which recognizes outstanding operations and maintenance (O&M) practices in the Small Secondary Plant category (1 million gallons per day), was presented to representatives from the Newington, N.H., facility at a ceremony during the Water Environment Federation’s Technical Exposition and Conference in Washington, D.C.

“The Sewer Commission enjoys a wonderful relationship with the Earth Tech team,” said George Fletcher, chair of the Newington Sewer Commission.  “Their hard work directly contributed to our winning this award.”  

The Earth Tech team is composed of Plant Manager Denis Messier, Jack Hoyt, and Richard Clough.  The company has operated and maintained the wastewater treatment plant for the town of Newington, which is located 60 miles northeast of Boston, Mass., since 1981.
