JACOBSON NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FOR EARTH TECH'S WESTERN DISTRICT

LONG BEACH, Calif. (November 10, 2004) – Earth Tech Inc., a business unit of Tyco Engineered Products & Services, and a global provider of consulting, engineering and construction services, has appointed Kern Jacobson, P.E., senior vice president.

Jacobson, who has 34 years engineering and construction industry experience, will provide leadership for the company's western district and will be responsible for operations, client service and business development. He will be based in Earth Tech's offices in Long Beach, Calif.

During his career, Jacobson has been involved in a variety of municipal water and wastewater and local and state transportation projects across the U.S. Before joining Earth Tech, Jacobson was with Jacobs Civil, Inc., a division of Jacobs Engineering, for the past five years where he was most recently responsible for the company's civil engineering business units in the central and southwestern regions. Prior to that, he had been with Parsons Brinckerhoff for nine years, most recently as president of the PB Farradyne, a subsidiary company. Jacobson started his career with the Washington State Department of Transportation where he held a variety of technical and managerial positions during a 21-year tenure.

“Kern's strong public infrastructure experience in the transportation and water/wastewater markets will greatly enhance our continued expansion in the western United States,” Alan P. Krusi, president of Earth Tech, said. “He now will oversee a diversified business involving both public infrastructure engineering and construction services and environmental remediation. Kern also will play a significant leadership role in Earth Tech's global technical practices organization.”

Jacobson received his master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Washington and his bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
