Under a system wide emergency services contract, Earth Tech assisted our client in responding to the emergency condition of an accidental chemical spill. The spill was caused by the rupture of a 10,000-gallon tank.
Earth Tech was contacted by the client to provide consultation on how to respond to the incident; on-site remediation oversight and documentation of remediation activities; daily and weekly reporting to the client; and coordination with the regulatory agencies.
Results of emergency response activities included no impact on surface or groundwater, minimal soil impacts, and restoration of normal transportation activities within hours of the incident. A closure report was prepared at the conclusion of emergency response and remediation activities, and forwarded to regulatory agencies. Official closure was obtained approximately three months after submittal of the closure report.
