Following competitive tender, Earth Tech was selected by the client to construct an energy-from-waste facility as a complete turnkey contract. The new plant incinerates seven tonnes per hour of municipal waste, and produce in excess of 3 MW of power and in excess of 2 MW of heat for on site use and export to adjacent industrial facilities.

The scope of services included design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the new facility, incorporating all major plant items including the oscillating kiln, boiler, turbine, flue-gas treatment plant, materials handling systems, instrumentation and control systems, steam systems, water treatment plant, composting facility, electrical substation and transformer compounds and all associated civil works.

Construction was completed in 2004.
