Greater Toronto Airports Authority

Opened in 2006, the new Automated People Mover (APM) is part of the $4.4 billion landside and airside redevelopment currently under way at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.

The APM, which accommodates a peak capacity of 2,150 passengers per hour, per direction, offers passengers more efficient transportation service between terminals and between the terminals and remote parking facilities. The system design will also allow the APM to be expanded to a fourth station as Terminal 1 expands.

Earth Tech has worked with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority since 1997, providing a wide range of services for the APM project. These services include planning; design management; structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering; transportation engineering; architectural design; landscape architecture; geometric design support; and construction administration.
